Parameters
Capture every UTM parameter
LeadInbox automatically captures utm_source, medium, campaign and more on every form submission.
How This Tool Works
Enter your URL
Paste the destination page you want to track — your landing page, blog post, or homepage. Must start with https://.
Pick source, medium & campaign
Use the quick chips to fill source and medium in one click, then name your campaign. Parameters are auto-formatted as you type.
Copy & share
Your UTM URL generates instantly on the right. Hit Copy URL and paste it into your ad, email, or social post.
What Each UTM Parameter Does
Five parameters. Three required. All case-sensitive — so this tool auto-lowercases and hyphenates them for you.
utm_sourcerequiredWho sent the traffic?
e.g. google, facebook, newsletter, partner-site
utm_mediumrequiredWhat marketing channel?
e.g. cpc, email, social, organic, referral, display
utm_campaignrequiredWhich specific campaign or initiative?
e.g. brand-awareness, summer-sale, product-launch
utm_contentoptionalWhich ad or link within the campaign?
e.g. hero-banner, cta-button, sidebar-link
utm_termoptionalWhich keyword triggered the ad?
e.g. lead-generation-software, crm-tool
UTM Tagging Best Practices
Always use lowercase
Analytics treats 'Google' and 'google' as two different sources. Stick to lowercase everywhere — this tool enforces it automatically.
Use hyphens, not spaces or underscores
Spaces get encoded as %20, which looks messy. Hyphens are readable, URL-safe, and the industry standard. This tool converts spaces to hyphens as you type.
Never use UTMs on internal links
Adding UTM parameters to links between your own pages overwrites the original traffic source and pollutes your data. UTMs belong only on external links pointing to your site.
Document your naming conventions
Decide on your taxonomy once — write it down. If one person uses 'facebook' and another uses 'fb', you'll have split data forever. Consistency is everything.
Shorten long UTM links before sharing socially
UTM URLs can be long and look spammy in social posts. Use a link shortener (Bitly, etc.) on top of your UTM link for a cleaner social presence while keeping full tracking.
